You want short, focused, gamified sessions rather than open-ended drilling — timed quizzes with lives, scoring, and a leaderboard-style history.
Where to Go
There's no separate launcher tile for games. Every Quick Game button lives inside the training screen it's drawn from:
- Character Training → Character Match
- Word Training → Word / Callsign Match, HAM Abbreviations Game, Callsign Pick Game
- Text & QSO Training → Phrase Error Spotter, QSO Quiz, SOTA Game, POTA Game, Contest Game
See Quick Games for the full list of game modes, how each one works, and how scoring is calculated.
Settings to Review
- Speed Ladder — the ⚡ icon in the top bar of each game (Character, Word, Phrase, HAM Abbreviations, Callsign Pick). On by default: +0.2 WPM per correct answer, −0.1 WPM per wrong answer, clamped between 5 and 60 WPM. No setup needed — it just works.
- Difficulty is inherited from the parent screen — Character Match uses your current Koch level, Word Match uses your word-length filter, and so on. Tune the underlying training screen's settings first if a game feels too easy or too hard.
Games are the one place on this site where seeing text on screen isn't the thing to
avoid. For Character/Word/Phrase Match, judging whether what's shown matches
what you heard is the entire mechanic, not a shortcut around it — there's no
display setting to hide it, and none is needed. The Callsign Pick Game
goes a step further and never uses TTS at all, regardless of your TTS setting — the
Morse audio is the only cue, so you must copy the callsign purely by ear before
picking from the on-screen options.
